I love that the last couple of days the weather has been so hot, allowing us to be quite active as a family. SO active that I didn’t have time to blog! We’ve been out at the park everyday as well as enjoying the beach. I realized that the busier and more active I keep my kids, the more active I am forcing myself to be. Which for the time being is a great start. While at the beach, I (for the first time in probably a few years) took advantage of my husband being with me and decided to just go out and swim. It felt amazing!! Something I plan on adding to my routine, and maybe even attempting a triathlon sometime soon.. So with all this hot weather and trying to keep myself motivated and active I had to find a awesome solution to our sweet tooth & the hot weather… I came up with a perfect combo of fruit that mixed together tasted like a big stick popsicle the kind you would get for a dollar when you were a kid!!
Big Stick Popsicle Flavored Smoothie
1/2 cup chopped Strawberries
- 1/2 cup chopped Mango
- 1/2 cup chopped Guava
- 1/2 cup chopped pineapple
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup of ice
In your blender of choice, (envy those with a vitamix!) add all of your ingredients including the water and the ice. This combo is simple and very tropical but keeping it plain and without any extra juice or milks it truly tastes like a “Big Stick” popsicle. So refreshing, tart and sweet!
I have a couple of plans for this week:
- Keep a tight schedule, organizing my workouts etc..
- Meal plan for the week, I don’t want to restrict myself to the same meal day in and day out. But want to make sure and have an idea of healthy meals I can enjoy with my family.
- Continue to keep my family active outdoors and make it enjoyable and motivating
