Raw! Raw! Raw!


Today kind of flew by and I fell behind on a couple of tasks. But I did make an amazing Raw Fruit & Nut salad, full of antioxidants, bioflavonoids, protein, omega 3 fatty acids and nutty goodness!

I wanted to share what some of the benefits of this yummy salad are:

Antioxidants- help fight against free radicals that can kill cells and make us age faster, dry out our hair, and skin. Also can help fight cancer.

Bioflavonoids- are the natural pigments in fruits and veggies. So the richer the color the more bio goodness! Even though they are still studying  bioflavonoids, they have seen that they can help cells get oxygen, hormones and antibodies get to the blood stream, and also help our blood clot.

Omega 3 fatty acids- Yes you can find these in marine oils, you can also find it in Plant oils!  Ot can help regulate your metabolism, help prevent heart attack, decrease inflammation and also boost brain function.

Nuts & Protein- Did you know that there are 21 grams of protein in Almonds, 28 grams in pumpkin seeds, 23 grams in sunflower seeds! sounds like a better way to get that protein than a power bar which contains sugar & sodium…. Most Nuts are very high in protein and natural fats. The kind of fat that will turn into fuel and energy!!

  • dried cranberries
  • goji berries
  • 2 chopped whole kiwi’s
  • 1 half grapefruit
  • 1 cup of green grapes
  • 1 cup of chopped strawberries
